What we look for

Common Sharia issues in car finance contracts

Many contracts described as Islamic still contain terms that need correcting. These are some of the issues we check for.

  • Late payment charges that benefit the provider as interest
  • Selling the car before the seller actually owns it
  • Combining sale and lease terms in one contract
  • Interest hidden inside fees, charges or balloon payments
  • Insurance or add-ons structured in a non-compliant way
  • Excessive uncertainty (gharar) in price, term or transfer of ownership

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide or arrange car finance?

No. We do not lend, arrange or broker finance, and we do not recommend specific lenders or products. Our role is Sharia review and guidance on the contract terms.

What is the difference between Murabaha and Ijara?

Murabaha is a cost-plus sale: the provider buys the car and sells it to you at an agreed profit, paid in instalments. Ijara is a lease, where ownership may transfer at the end through a separate agreement.

What do I need to send you?

The quote or draft contract, the full terms and conditions, and any fee or insurance documents you have received from the dealer.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the service and the contract. Request a quote and we will reply with a clear fee before any work begins.

Important: The Bridge of Wisdom Limited provides Sharia review and support only. We are not a lender or credit broker, we do not arrange or recommend finance, and we do not provide regulated financial advice. All finance decisions remain yours, and you should check the full terms with the provider before signing.
