Halal certification
What does Halal certification cover?
We certify products, facilities such as factories and warehouses, restaurants and caterers, and slaughter facilities. Each certificate has a defined scope listing the products or sites it covers.
How long does certification take?
The typical duration is 4 to 6 weeks from receipt of complete documents. Having your documents ready is the biggest factor in keeping to this timeline.
How long is a certificate valid?
Certificates are valid for one year and are renewed after a renewal audit. We recommend starting the renewal before the expiry date.
What documents do I need?
Your registration certificate, product list, ingredients for each product, supplier details and Halal certificates for raw materials, facility layout, and any quality or food safety certificates. The certification process page lists extra documents for each certificate type.
How much does certification cost?
The cost depends on the scope: the number of products and sites and the type of certificate. After you apply, we send a written quotation before any work starts.
Do you carry out unannounced inspections?
Yes. Facility, restaurant and slaughter certificates include follow-up visits during the year, which may be unannounced.
Which standards do you apply?
We audit in accordance with Islamic Sharia, guided by OIC/SMIIC 1 and the standards of BPJPH (Indonesia).
Certificates and verification
How can customers check a certificate?
Every certificate has a unique number. Enter it on our verification page to see whether the certificate is valid, expired, suspended or revoked.
What happens if a violation is found?
A certificate is revoked immediately if a violation is proven, and its status is updated on the verification page.
What if I change ingredients or suppliers?
Tell us before making the change. We review it and confirm whether it is covered by your certificate.
Sharia consultancy and contracts
Which standards does your financial consultancy follow?
Our financial consultancy follows the Sharia standards of AAOIFI, the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions.
Can you review my car or home finance contract?
Yes. Send us the agreement and we will give you a written Sharia review explaining any problem clauses. We provide Sharia review only.
Are you a lender or financial adviser?
No. We are not a lender or credit broker, we do not arrange or recommend finance, and we do not provide regulated financial advice.
Can you calculate Zakat for my business?
Yes. Our free online calculator gives an estimate, and we can prepare a written Zakat calculation for companies with more complex assets.
